Story

| The Urban Spirituality Center is an offspring of Diversity as Gift, a Portland 501c3 Nonprofit Corporation. Diversity as Gift was founded by Jim Galluzzo, a teacher, Spiritual Director and trainer who saw a deep, unmet need for an urban center for spirituality. |
| This is a peace-filled sanctuary within walking distance of the downtown offices. It is a place to calm, to center, to renew and to deepen connections. |

| It is a vision shared by a group of like-minded individuals who support the mission of Diversity as Gift: a vision of seeing people as fully human and honoring spirituality as an inherent human quality. All of these individuals are certified as spiritual directors. Spiritual direction is ancient discipline that has been updated to include many members of the laity. This discipline is designed to companion an individual in their spiritual journey through life - and to help deal with the spiritual questions and needs so common to our lives. |
| The group is an inclusive group, unlimited by tradition, meeting the needs of all people, wherever they are on their spiritual journey. This Urban Spiritual Center offers guided spiritual direction, classes, whole body care and a variety of disciplines that support and develop the whole human. |
| The Urban Spirituality Center supports people's evolving sense of wholeness through offering nourishing silence, loving community and awakening experiences, services, practices and classes. |
